ICU, GAWU Inaugurate Interim Executives for COCOBOD Supreme Consultative Council

COCOBOD's Interim Supreme Consultative Council
Mr. Solomon Kotei, General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU), has on Thursday, 9th March, 2017 sworn into office an eight member team as Interim Executives of the COCOBOD Supreme Consultative Council at Cocoa House, Roof Top – Accra.
The council has Messrs. Edward Okoh Ampofoh, Amankwah Asare as Chairman and Secretary respectively. Other members include: Messrs. Samson Amoako, Samuel Owusu, and Maxwell Abaidoo. The rest are Messrs. John Boakye, Ken August (Adivosor) and Theophilus Anohomah.
According to Mr. Kotei, the interim executives would steer the affairs of the cocoa industry until proper elections are done at a later date.
He advised executives of various unions to avoid “worshiping Chief Executives” and work for the good of workers.
The Chairman replaces Mr. Hassan IDDRISU who is currently on retirement.
Mr. Edward Kereweh, General Secretary of the General Agricultural Workers Union (GAWU) as well other executive members of both ICU and GAWU were present to solidarize and support the current executive members.
